Wildlife Gardening opportunities

The term “wilding” does not mean letting your immaculate plot go to rack and ruin. But it can mean thinking in a different way. A garden crammed with flowers will always attract wildlife to visit and that’s great. But why not make it a place where the wildlife wants to stay and possibly breed? There are so many ways to do this and our hope is that everyone will make at least one change and encourage that to happen, filling Sherborne with birdsong, the hum of insects and the scent of blossom.

Castle Gardens and Dorset Wildlife Trust are organising training days for those who want to learn more and possibly go on to become Garden Ambassadors who help others to make that change.

The first two training days are on March 11 and 21 at the Butterfly House at Castle Gardens. Fill in the form on the Home page, or perhaps come in person to our public launch on 12 February at 7pm in the Digby Hall, Hound Street to learn more.
