Have you ever stood in a woodland glade and marvelled at the breathtaking sight of bluebells in spring? Or laid a picnic blanket in a proper meadow and munched sandwiches to the drone of bees and the song of skylarks?
Nature in the raw is an indescribable pleasure, so why isn’t it good enough to invite it into our own gardens?
We have grown up with the idea that Nature is “out there” and gardens should be something different, somewhere for neat lawns and borders for cultivated flowers but never a weed (wild flower!). Why? Because it’s a bit scruffy? Not so controllable? Or because we care too much what the neighbours think.
Many of us are a bit scared of wildlife gardening because its outside our comfort zone.
We are inviting you to change all that by learning more about how you can make a difference and still have a lovely garden.
Sign up for our garden ambassador scheme and attend a short teaching session at Castle Gardens on 11 or 21 March. Email: info@wildsherborne.co.uk
