Have you ever stood in a woodland glade and marvelled at the breathtaking sight of bluebells in spring? Or laid a picnic blanket in a proper meadow and munched sandwiches to the drone of bees and the song of skylarks?
Nature in the raw is an indescribable pleasure, so why isn’t it good enough to invite it into our own gardens?
We have grown up with the idea that Nature is “out there” and gardens should be something different, somewhere for neat lawns and borders for cultivated flowers but never a weed (wild flower!). Why? Because it’s a bit scruffy? Not so controllable? Or because we care too much what the neighbours think.
Many of us are a bit scared of wildlife gardening because its outside our comfort zone.
We are inviting you to change all that by learning more about how you can make a difference and still have a lovely garden.
If you need friendly advice on things you can do then ask one of our Wildlife Ambassadors to pay you a visit. It’s a free service and we will visit at a time to suit you. Write to Sarah (gardens@wildsherborne.co.uk) with your details.

We love a good success story. If you have pictures or experiences that might inspire other gardeners please share them with us so we can post them on our website and Facebook page for all to see! Simply email your content to admin@wildsherborne.co.uk - and when we have a good collection we will add them to our display boards at Castle Gardens too!
